The Music
Always on the lookout for big guitar-based songs, that will please today's audiences, Jonny Seven show the can play some of the greatest songs of the last 10 years. This part of their set includes songs by Ocean Colour Scene, Feeder and the Stereophonics.
If you come to see Jonny Seven in the right place you will probably hear why they are also one of the most unique blues and rock bands in the North of England – as well as one of the easiest to dance to. In their search for great music to interpret, the band has chosen some of the most significant blues numbers from the past and re-sculptured them into hard hitting and unique songs for today.
After the band started to build up a following in the Sheffield area they realised the renewed interest in the ‘very British' punk and new wave phenomena of the late 1970s and revived some of the best material recorded during that time. Jonny Seven gigs often include numbers by The Clash, The Undertones, The Sex Pistols, The Police and Tom Robinson. But as with everything with Jonny Seven, the songs are brought right up to date and played the Jonny Seven way.
Jonny Seven play a huge range of rock based material – from 1950s ‘golden age' rock and roll to contemporary new metal and soft rock. The sets usually include a well-chosen selection of 1960s R&B; classics by Bob Dylan and hard driving pop from the Rolling Stones.
From this period Jonny Seven also play some of the all time greatest songs by The Who, The Beatles, The Small Faces and Joe Cocker.
