Al Ibbotson

Equipment

Al started playing guitar in the 70's, his main influences at that time being Steven Stills and Neil Young as well as the obligatory Clapton & Hendrix. He has always been a lover of the guitar in all its forms, acoustic or electric, six or twelve string (or sometimes even four !), and so learned to play in the folk clubs which were so popular in those days.

It was at one of these that he was introduced to Keith, and the two have been playing music of one kind or another, on and off for most of the time since then. Al played second guitar with Sheffield heavy-rockers Phoenix Rising and later enjoyed a stint with the Fat Cat Blues Band as a bass player, before meeting Rob Scott in 1995 and founding what was to become Jonny Seven.
